Our church history
Three Springs Baptist began in 1994 as Brother Kenneth Massey answered the call to begin a Baptist mission in Bowling Green. The first meeting was held in the home of Jimmy and Linda Meadors with nine people. The group decided to continue meeting on a regular basis, and the location was changed to the home of Lonnie and Toby Cockriel, as they had a piano for Sister Toby to play during the meetings. This small group continued these home services until moving to Greenwood Methodist Church for Sunday evening services. The Lord mightily blessed these initial meetings, as the mission saw seven souls saved in one evening!
The meetings continued until January 1995, when the Lord presented them with the opportunity to begin holding Sunday morning and evening worship services at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Cave Mill Road. McFerrin Missionary Baptist Church in Madison, Tennessee extended to the group a mission arm and all newly baptized members of the mission were baptized into McFerrin Church until Three Springs was organized.
The Lord continued to bless the mission efforts and in November 1995 the mission members united and pledged the value of their homes and property in order to secure financing to purchase 7 acres of land on Three Springs Road for the purpose of building a facility in which to meet.
On December 2, 1995, Three Springs Baptist Church was organized with 89 charter members at a special organizational meeting at the Old Bowling Green High School.
In December 1997 construction of the auditorium was completed and the first service was held in the new facility. The fellowship hall and additional Sunday School rooms were completed in 1999.
